My latest written stuff is at myspace.com/bojo or Livejournal.com/users/danimatian

I am a graduate of Grand Valley State University's Film/Video program.

I recently moved to Chicago, IL and I am exploring many new film/video/animation opportunities there. More on this story as it develops!

Layla, and other assorted songs I require to live my life.

the 3m:10s piano moment of Layla always gets me. Clapton/ Allman guitars wailing for Pattie, I am in love with you but you are George's girl

I was 9 in 1985 and I figured out how to skip to precisely this part of the song on the record player whenever I needed to have a moment to find myself when something was getting me down. I didn't even know what the song was about yet but I knew there was something special about the music.

We had a shitty record player next to the IBM XT and I delved into my parents record collection because the songs on the radio didn't speak to me this way. I would play my CGA 4 color computer games and get lost in the music of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. That corner the computer was in became home base long before 1987 when I installed the modem and started talking to people online.

Later it would be Strawberry Fields Forever or the opening of Kid A "Everything in its right place" that put a wrong day right again.

Music is so powerful. Songs take you out of the moment and put you somewhere else when you need to be somewhere else.

Lil' Chef - Mount Pleasant Michigan

Lil' Chef is the key to my entire Michigan Film Post existance.

After college I was working at Avalon Films but soon, the SAG strike made it IMPOSSIBLE to find work. I wasn't very happy for a long time, working Kinkos & TGIFridays to pay the bills.

During an incredible rain storm I decided to get in my car and drive until I figured out my problems.

I ended up in Mt. Pleasant, at Lil' Chef, writing in my notebook as I tried to figure out where my life went wrong and what I would do. Would I move to Chicago? New York? LA ? Where did I belong? Was Michigan where I was supposed to be for this film work stuff?

In the booth at Lil' Chef I decided I was staying. I wanted to be with my hometown friends and family. I wanted to make a better film scene in Michigan. I wanted a lot of things, but wasn't sure where to start.

The morning after I got a phone call from Universal Images, they needed help in the Tape Library and that kept me in Michigan until 2006 when I took a job at Avenue Edit/Somersault Animation in the Chicago Loop.

I spent at least 2 nights a week at Lil' Chef when I went to CMU, and every time I visited Mt. Pleasant after that I would go there. Not sure what drew me to drive there in the rainstorm but I'm glad I took my notebook with me, 'cause it all came out in that booth and I could move forward successfully because of it.

    ANIMATIONS = DANIMATIANS

Most of you have informed me that I've MISSPELLED Animation in the word Danimatian.

Allow me to fill you in...

Animation is what I studied in school. When I animate, I called it the finished product a Danimation. Somewhere along the line I substituted the "o" in animation for an "a." Why did I do this? Because I am Armenian, and most Armenian names end in -ian or -yan. Hence, an Armenianified Animation is an Animatian. An Armenianified Animation by me is a Danimatian. Now you know.

Ok, so why is this site called www.zoomis.com/~elvis?
